Setting up a set of spaces for community dialog within the most active location in the city of Phoenix.
Two permanent film screens are set up opposite each other. Each plaza has two-way seating and sound so people can watch either film simultaneously showing.
The proposal included conducting interviews with many people in town, well known and not, that would be edited into films to play opposing viewpoints simultaneously- creating a dialog about what should happen or should not happen in the city. We envisioned other film experiences occurring on the site over time.
The plazas are designed for greater habitation, allowing for performance as well as rest. The street between the plazas would be made into a third plaza with new paving for activation during street closures.
